It's official, the next Italian Ornithology Conference will be held in Calabria from 20 to 24 September 2027.
The 23rd Italian Ornithological Conference will be held in Calabria!
From Monday, September 20th to Friday, September 24th, 2027, the Italian ornithological community will meet at the University of Calabria in Rende (CS).
The conference is sponsored by the CISO and organized by the Calabrian Ornithological Station together with the Department of Biology, Ecology, and Earth Sciences (DiBEST) at the University of Calabria.
The symbol of this edition is the European roller (Coracias garrulus), a particularly protected species associated with Mediterranean agricultural landscapes, which also finds important nesting environments in Calabria. Its selection reflects the value of these landscapes and the commitment to their protection.
By December, we will publish the program, deadlines for contributions, and registration details on the website of the conference we are organizing.

Latest version of NaturaList
Dear observers, we would like to inform you that the NaturaList app is constantly updated by Biolovision, with bug fixes, errors, and other updates. We recommend checking your mobile version - last item in the Preferences menu (three bars in the top left) - and, if necessary: a) uninstall the app from your phone and b) reinstall the app from the Play Store. The latest version available is v.0314.
After updating—and especially if the update occurred automatically on your device—we recommend going to Preferences and reviewing all the options, customizing them if necessary.
Among these options, by following the path 'Preferences' / 'Customization' / 'Atlas Code List', set the 19-code option (CH, IT), which allows you to use the encoding used in Italy and not the default 16-code.
Happy ornithological observations!
